4-H Youth Development

The Claiborne County 4-H Program offers many opportunities for youth in the 4th-12th grades to excel at "Learning By Doing".
In-school clubs: 4-H clubs meet once each month throughout the school year in every school in the county. Club participation is free and provides opportunities for learning, leadership, and fun.
Leadership Program: Provides 7th-12th grade members the opportunity to lead younger 4-H clubs. Leaders are expected to teach monthly lessons, judge club contests, and encourage community service participation.This program allows junior high and senior 4-H members to become classroom teachers once each month.
4-H Honor Club: This is a county-wide club which meets monthly for community service projects and fun fellowship. The club is available for 7th-12th grade members.
4-H Camps: Available for all 4-H members, the 4-H camping experience provides hands-on crafts and skills, and safe and wonderful social environment, and lots and lots of fun. All 4-H camps are staffed with Extension professionals as well as adult volunteer leaders.
Livestock Activities: Opportunity to raise and exhibit most types of livestock from poultry to beef cattle.
Judging Teams: Opportunity to learn in-depth knowledge about many subject as well as the development of critical thinking and public speaking skills.
